FRIP Level 1 Workshop
From today until next Sunday, another FRIP Level 1 Intense Face-to-Face Workshop is taking place in Thessaloniki (GRE). 21 participants from across Europe are participating in this new workshop to get the FIBA Instructor Level 1 certificate.

The participants will complete the process that they have been going through over the past months via FIBA iRef Accademy Learning Platform on diverse fields of expertise such as: "Teaching & Learning", "Basketball Knowledge" and "Refereeing". Led by a panel of experts, such as Simon Kirkland (ENG - Teaching & Learning), Patrick Hunt & Peter Lonergan (AUS - Basketball), Albert Joseph (FIBA) & Carl Jungebrand (FIBA Head of Refereeing), participants will also count with the presence of Davorin Nakic (FIBA Referee Manager Europe), Petri Mantyla (FIBA Referee Operations) and Louise Faye (Competitions & Officiating Senior Administrator Europe).


The 21 participants will work in different exercises and lessons, focused on:
- Understanding the key elements of a positive learning environment.
- Understanding that people learn in different ways.
- Understanding inter-active techniques and when they should be used
- Understanding the principles of planning a session
- Understanding an assessment / evaluation process
- Understanding better different offensive and defensive patterns and spacing on the court.
- Enhancing their knowledge on creating contact and player individual skills.
- Increasing the awareness how basketball plays impact the officiating (techniques, mechanics)
- Understanding the key elements and value of protocols, methods and basics
- Understanding the tools to assist learning with refereeing related topics
- Creating and present various range of different refereeing training activities
