Letter from BCL Referee Manager
Dear BCL Officiating Community,
As the 2024/2025 BCL season closed with the F4 tournament, I would like to express my sincere appreciation, gratitude and satisfaction with the high-level work delivered by our entire officiating team.
This season presented many challenges, with numerous high-stake, do-or-die games that demanded the highest level of professionalism, focus, and integrity. I am proud to say that we rose to every occasion and handled our responsibilities with full respect for the BCL competition.
The introduction of the new nomination system proved to be a valuable tool, enabling me to assign the best officiating crews to each game and at the same time, I ensured that our FIBA Elite Referees received balanced and fair nomination opportunities across both club and national team competitions. I hope you share my sentiment that this was truly a win-win season for everyone involved.
As we transition from club competitions, we now look ahead to an intensive summer calendar, including two EuroBasket tournaments and 18 additional events, all taking place in a compact timeframe from June 18th to September 14th. It will be a demanding period, but also an exciting continuation of our journey in this never-ending story that is European basketball. A privilege we all share.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our eight Referee Observers. Their tireless efforts not only supported your work throughout the season but also contributed significantly to the education and development of the entire officiating community through valuable insights and materials derived from BCL competitions.
In closing, thank you once again for your dedication and high-level performances throughout the 2024/2025 season. I wish you a nice, well-deserved rest before shifting your focus to the upcoming national team competitions.
With my sincere appreciation and respect,
Davorin
