Letter to Officials - 2

Dear Colleagues,
I hope, and believe, we are all moving
through this turbulent time safely and with discipline.
At this present time, we are all facing our own challenges on a daily basis; we often see others, and question their actions, without having an understanding of their own personal challenges; tolerance and empathy are key behaviours we all need to have and show at this challenging time. Many people are facing life insecurities like personal health and financial issues as well as missing family and friends, but one thing is for sure, we'll come out of these problems stronger and for many of us we will become better people.
As Voltaire wrote "Every evil begets some good".
I would like to praise, and thank, those officials who have already completed their analysis of their 2019/20 BCL games and recognise the cohesion of our BCL 'family' in this unprecedented time. The feedback I have received so far is of very positive, open and most importantly honest conversations which will create an excellent foundation for the 2020/21 season, which believe me, will come very soon.
I have analysed 12 individual reports so far and believe these reports were made objectively and accurately, giving clear guidelines of how to prepare for the 2020/21 BCL season. For those officials who are beginning the analysis process, I request that you prepare yourself completely and be ready to self-assess and scrutinise your performances with your Referee Instructor, so your personal development plan can be created.
Year on year we are witnessing the growth and development of the BCL Competition. Hopefully you will have seen the very positive news in the media about further investment in our Competition. I want you to know that from my side, I am working hard to raise the overall status of the BCL referees to a much higher level; I believe that soon we will step onto a new, higher staircase.
At this stage can I thank everyone who has sent in suggestions of how we can improve our service to you and the BCL as a whole, we have had some very good suggestions which we are currently looking to implement.
As through-out the season we, the Referee Department, are here to help and support you in any way that we can, please don't hesitate to call, text or email any of us 24/7 our phone lines are always open.
I wish you, your families and friends my best wishes and hope you stay safe and well. Remember every morning when you wake to put on your "positive glasses", we will come through this together.
