WEEKLY REPORT - GD5

08.11.2021

Dear Colleagues.

Congratulations. It is my personal impression that we are on the right track, and I would like to thank all officials of the eight games from BCL GD 05. You have set yourselves a new 'baseline standard' of performance and approach, which we must continue to build upon as our new standard of service for our customers, the BCL teams. The Video Observers' feedbacks plus my monitoring of all the games gives a big picture of the positive development and correct application of the elements we agreed on in our Pre-Season meetings.

Data from the Video Observers:

UF situations

In 5 games we didn't have any UF decisions. In 3 games the referees called three UF, all as correct final decisions.

IRS usage

We used IRS in 3 games for 5 situations, all with the correct final call and according to the Protocol. Two situations for PF vs. UF, two situations game clock check, and once OOB last touch in L2M.

To improve- main points

Criteria:

  • No call vs. marginal calls - I received feedback from 4 games as an element for improvement.
  • Fake being fouled
  • Focus and recognition on who did the first illegal contact

AMI and 3PO:

  • Lead position - AMI, better usage of CD, no delay in rotation
  • Usage of unofficial signals - influence of Referee's image (behavior)

I want to reiterate the positive presentations of BCL Referees at FEC games. FEC Video Observers are sending feedbacks on the professional approach and very good performances of BCL Referees. FEC VOs are very pleased on how our younger BCL Referees are doing their job and showing the talent and commitment required to become the best officials they can be. I am very pleased that our 'next' generation are working hard, trying to present the correct image of modern officiating and, of course, waiting for their chance to come to the top of the pyramid. Positive competition....

Dear Colleagues,

Let's continue to work on successful servicing as a 'team ready for high performances'.

I wish you another successful week.
